Compensation

The Advantage Group takes its responsibility to provide customers with the most cost-effective insurance policies appropriate to their needs very seriously. In this respect, we strive to place customers with carriers that provide the best combination of premium and coverage, have a strong financial rating, good policy service and provide responsive claims service.

Over the years, we have learned that maintaining strong relationships with a number of insurance carriers aids us in fulfilling our customer responsibility. Producing a significant volume of profitable business is the primary way of building a relationship with a carrier.

The Advantage Group, like other agents and brokers, is compensated in a variety of ways by carriers. Our revenue is customarily based on commission calculated as a percentage of the premium collected by the insurer.

We may also receive additional compensation called incentives or contingents. Incentives are usually awarded annually, if earned, and are conditional upon the happening of some event. For example, generating a profitable loss ratio for the entire book of business placed with a carrier and/or a certain percentage of premium growth over a prior period. Such incentives may be in place with one or more of the carriers with whom your insurance is placed.
